abstract This marine multibeam survey took place from May – June 2016 in the area of North East Atlantic on board the RRS James Cook. The survey was carried out by NERC National Marine Facilities for a collaborative project between Plymouth University, BGS, JNCC and Oxford University. The aim of the survey was to collect data in association with a NERC joint researach grant (NE/K011855/1 and NE/K013513/1) . Sea floor bathymetry/backscatter data were collected using an EM2040 Autosub6000, EM-120 (depths greater than 800 m) and EM-710 (depths less than 800 m) Kongsberg multibeam systems. These data are archived by BGS. Contact appropriate Data Archive Centres (DAC), for data - bathymetry (UKHO), Oceanographic data (BODC) and biological data (DASSH). Technical details of the survey are contained in the Report of Survey, available at https://www.bodc.ac.uk/resources/inventories/cruise_inventory/report/16050/.
