| abstract |
This sampling and geophysical survey took place in May/June 1997 in the SW Rockall Trough and Porcupine Bank margins on board the R.V. Pelagia. It was carried out by Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) for ENAM II project, the survey took. The purpose was to collect data for a study of margin development in relation to sediment transport processes and to establish the relationship of recent and past sedimentation patterns with (paleo) oceanographic conditions. Sea floor seismic data were collected using CHIRP. Sub-bottom seismic profiling data were collected using airguns and ORE pinger. Sample data were collected using box corer and piston corer. Navigation was by means of GPS and DGPS. These data were recorded and are archived by NIOZ. Technical details of the survey are contained in NIOZ cruise report.
