abstract This marine geophysical survey took place in August and September 1990 in the NE Atlantic Ocean , Rockall Plateau on board the RRS Charles Darwin. It was carried out by Institute of Oceanographic Sciences (IOS) with participants from the British Geological Survey (BGS). The purpose was to collect data to study Sedimentary equivalent of dipping reflector basalts. In addition BGS had requested collection of gravity and magnetic data off the north coast of Ireland and gravity data off the south coast of Ireland on route to/from the project area. Sea floor data were collected using Echosounder. Sub-bottom seismic profiling data were collected using single and multichannel equipment. Details of the survey are contained in IOS cruise report 218/1990.
