abstract This geophysical survey took place during October 1976 west of the Scillies on board the RRS Shackleton. It was carried out by Institute of Oceanographic Sciences, Barry (IOS) for Institute of Geological Sciences now British Geological Survey (BGS). This survey was part of an Edinburgh University, Department of Geology survey. The purpose was to collect data for two survey lines to supplement regional data for continental margin studies. Sea floor data were collected using echo sounder. Gravity and magnetic data were collected. These data are archived by BGS. Technical details of the survey are contained in Edinburgh University Cruise 5/76 report.
